Host FAQ

Your earnings depend on your car, location, and how often you rent it out. Many hosts earn $500-$1,500 per month. Set your own daily price and availability to maximize your income.

With Motiv's low 5% fee (compared to 25%+ elsewhere), you keep more of what you earn.

Most personal vehicles qualify. Your car should be:

• Model year 2010 or newer
• Less than 150,000 miles
• In good working condition
• Registered and insured in your name
• Free of major cosmetic damage

Payments are processed through Stripe. After each completed trip, your earnings (minus the 5% service fee) are transferred directly to your connected bank account.

Most hosts receive their funds within 2-3 business days after the trip ends.

You must maintain your own auto insurance. We recommend checking with your insurance provider about coverage during peer-to-peer rentals.

Renters are responsible for any damage during the rental period. We verify all renters' driver's licenses before they can book.

Yes, you have full control over your bookings. When you receive a booking request, you can approve or decline it. You can also block specific dates on your calendar when your car isn't available.

You set your own daily rate when listing your car. Consider your car's value, local competition, and demand. You can adjust your price anytime.
